Henderson, Ky. (August 23, 2016) –Cabell Platt Medical Center located at 700 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. will be providing one free package of Pampers diapers per visit to our patients. “We are always trying to come up with new ways to help meet the need of our patient’s. We offer free formula to new parents when available from manufacturers and we have had requests for diapers as well. With some extra funding available from our grant, we are now able to meet that request.” –Jennafer Chandler
According to the National Diaper Bank Network, 1 in 3 American families’ reports experiencing diaper need. Children in low-income families are at greatest risk of suffering the effects of diaper need because many families can’t afford them. On average babies need between 6-10 diapers per day with an average cost range of $70-$80 per month. Current public support programs help some, but young children have additional needs necessary to build a strong foundation for healthy growth and to reach their fullest potential. Cabell Platt Medical Center is doing our part to help keep babies clean, dry and healthy.
